The Lord has blessed us again here at Phillips Cornerstone Farms. We've added a billy goat to our little herd, and he should be ready to start breeding in a few months. Right behind him, we're welcoming a few new pigs to the farm as well — they'll begin breeding next year. both the goat and pigs have been gifts and blessing from God.
It doesn't sound like much on paper. A goat. A few pigs. But every new animal here means something bigger than just numbers growing on a property. It means milk and meat are coming — provision for our own family, straight from the work of our hands and the goodness of God.
And it means something else too: enough to share.
Once things get going, we're hoping to sell some of what these animals provide — but just as much, we want to give some away. That's not an afterthought for us. It's part of the whole point.
Being a good steward isn't just about taking care of what God gives you. It's about passing the blessing forward once He's multiplied it. He didn't give Adam the garden just to keep it to himself — stewardship has always had generosity built into it. What comes to us isn't meant to stop with us.
So as this billy goat and these new pigs settle in, and as we wait on breeding season to do its work, we're looking forward to more than just a fuller farm. We're looking forward to having something to give.
Check back with us often to see what the Lord is doing here — we're grateful for every bit of it.
